Love the characters as they engage in their roles during my favorite period (WW II) of fighting Nazism with espionage, fighting in the skies and fighting the enemy in their territory. Relationships (family, friends, enemies) are integral part of the story and cannot wait for the next book to be released so that I can find how the story evolves.

You have to love how well this has been researched. Evelyn has a secret her father has left her. She is no longer even safe in her home country of England. Her boyfriend Miles is busy fighting the Luftwaffe defending England. This is a well written book that grabs your attention and pulls you in the story. You will feel like you are there. Can't wait for the next one.

As always CW has outdone herself. These stories take me back to times when my uncle spent his war years serving in the RAF. He told stories of the spitfires coming back to base after engaging with German the airforce over the channel. It was amazing that some could even fly. The planes were damaged as well as many of the young pilots who were fighting in them, some as young as seventeen. Yes seventeen !! Boys, not even men really. But they grew into men quickly in the months ahead. It was a time that required great strength And CW gives us this in another fine book. You can truly feel the pain of loss and the joy of victory. The suspense ties you to the story it’s truly spell binding. The success of the mission is your success also. What feelings this book gives you. As always. Well done CW

Might contain a spoiler What a cliffhanger of an ending!!! 'Enemy Sighted' is the long awaited 7th book in CW Browning's 'Shadows of War' series. It really felt like forever since finishing book 6 and I couldn't wait to lose myself in this one. CW Browning has not let her dedicated readers down, delivering us another fast paced, absorbing and engrossing read. In this book Evelyn sticks closer to home - there is no racing across Europe to beat the clock in this one, but danger and intrigue is still ever present. The more I read in this series the more invested I become in the characters and the story. This book had a mix of old familiar characters and new unfamiliar ones - am loving 'The Poles'! Can't wait for book 8 (and after that cliffhanger i'm desperately hoping the wait isn't too long)!

Enemy Sighted is the 7th book in CW Browning’s WWII series. We follow the war as it evolves in Europe through Evelyn, our MI6 agent. In Enemy Sighted, the Battle of Britain has begun. As always, CW Browning’s research is meticulous: you can feel the terror of the pilots, including Evelyn’s love interest, as they fight the Luftwaffe for control of the sky over the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Evelyn and her colleagues are still searching for the elusive traitor. Will they finally find him? I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the history, the intrigue, the love story hovering in the background but it ended too soon! My only, and very minor hesitation is that this particular book felt like part 1 of a two part series or a stage setting for a greater story and this is perhaps because the Battle of Britain was short and the next phase was the Blitz? Still, I highly recommend the whole series to all historical fiction lovers, especially those that enjoy well researched novels, an interesting cast of characters and a dash of romance.

In this latest installment of the Shadows of War series, our protagonist, a young woman from England’s landed gentry, has to deal with traitors among her peers as well as Nazi assassins. And her love interest and brother, both RAF pilots, have their own problems with an over-matched Luftwaffe as the Battle of Britain begins. It’s 1940 and she has already experienced the horrors of Hitler’s blitzkrieg through Europe, only to now face the same threat to her own country. A historically accurate and compelling read, this episode will leave you breathless waiting for the next chapter.
